SPOTLIGHT THIS WEEK

Hello Everybody! I recently had a event happened to me that made me decide to do a weekly spotlight blog. I wanted to write a blog about a public figure, company, or product that is PRO Christianity. I have had a real problem with the media for some time now. The media betrays Christians as self righteous, unforgiving, manipulative, and hateful people. The media will show "Christians" that have done something terrible, another popular thing they do is, after a tragedy they are always sure to include if it was a Christian or not. The media has portrayed Christians in such a terrible way it sickens me. They never show the incredible deeds of Christians. I have a older lady at my church who gives EVERYTHING back to the community, but you will never hear about that. However, if she was to do something terrible it would be the first thing on the news, and then they group ALL Christians together, because you know, if one does something stupid that means all of us would do that. It sickens me. A popular topic amongst the Christian community is the attendance of church and how it has dropped, not to mention faith in generally. A lot of young people aren't turning to faith anymore. We then blame it on technology or the young people themselves and this surprises me. It surprises me that we have never pointed a finger at the media!! The way the media portrays Christians it is a surprise anyone outside of a Christian family decides to follow Christ. The media doesn't do our community justice, we aren't perfect by no stretch of the imagination, but I know I have never come across a Christian like the media portrays us. It is time we take a STAND! My feelings on this subject hit a new boiling point a few weeks ago, I went to the store to do some shopping, I wandered into a miscellaneous aisle. In this aisle I found a shelf entirely dedicated to water bottles. There were four to choose from. A generic blue one, a superhero one, one with a cat on it and one with a bible verse. I couldn't believe it, the bible verse one was the only one that hadn't sold. The other ones were almost gone, but the bible verse one was completely stocked. Something wouldn't allow me to leave that aisle without picking up one of these water bottles. I couldn't believe that people would have rather bought a bottle with a cat on it rather than a bible verse, but then again I couldn't blame them either, everyone loves cats and online you can't go anywhere without hearing about how great cats are. I wondered why cant Jesus have this same attention? So I happily bought the bottle, it didn't cost that much and I knew I could find a use for it. So a week goes by and I take my bottle with me to the gym where I have it filled with water. At the gym a man approached me, he said" I can't believe you are using that bottle." To which I responded" I'm sorry if it offends you, that wasn't my attentions, I just love Jesus and I don't want to hide that." His response truly shocked me. He said' No it doesn't offended me, I am a Christian myself, its just that I wouldn't bring something like that to the gym people are going to think you are crazy and that you are above everyone."...... So this is what it has come to? Someone in our own community was scared to proclaim his love for our Lord and Savior, how can we expect these younger kids without a strong Christian family to find their way to our Lord? The story of the man at the gym angered me to the point I had to write about it. I want our community to come together and UNITE and put a end to the negative media we get. I don't want anyone to be afraid to proclaim their love for Jesus. This is why I will be doing a weekly spotlight and a public figure/company/product that proudly speaks positive of their Christian roots. It is up to us to support these public figures/companies/products, if we support these public entities then the media will catch on, our peers will see YOU supporting Christianity and they will connect you with Christianity and not what they see on the media. The young people will be able to see that the media doesn't portray what Christians really are! Lets do this guys! I just got a new energy in me, a new motivation! Lets get this product in the top 10 selling list, that way when people look at what is popular they will see that us Christians are here and we LOVE our Lord and nothing is going to turn us away! Maybe that is me being optimistic, but I just wanna show the world that we are one with him! I believe in you guys, I believe in us, I believe that we are fighting the good fight. They can't keep us down any longer! We will spread our love of Christ, after all everyone deserves a relationship with Jesus! We can do it guys!

Is there any public figure/company/product that you know about that supports Christianity? Well email me and we will blog about them! Is there a topic you wanna see me blog about? Encouragement for Christians

Hello everybody! One of the things that I think Christians lack within our community and from others outside our community is- encouragement. The reason this has motivated me to write about this subject is because all of you guys are incredible people and sometimes it can be hard to feel saved and accepted. Everyone is going through their own battles that we don't know about, so I think it is very important for us to encourage each other about Jesus Christ and his wonderful words rather than discourage each other. I think this is very important to those outside our community. If we neglect those that are confused then we will push them away for the most incredible relationship, a relationship with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. WE ALL SIN. One of the biggest problems our church faces is certain Christians looking down on others when they sin and discouraging them. I have seen some feel so discouraged, they never came back to church. Lets ask ourselves, is this what we want? Throughout the Bible we see instructions to encourage one another especially in times of suffering. I know a passage that encourages me is from Paul's prayer to the church at Thessalonica. The verse goes like this "With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Chris." 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12. Lets encourage people to stick with faith, even when they have been in a low season for a while. This reminds me off a story by Dan Moehler, long story short he goes to the doctors to discover that he has a broken knee. He decides that instead of having surgery he is going to pray to Jesus and ask for healing. Jesus healed him. He talks about how not everyone has that same idea in their heart but rather some Christians would rather have surgery(I know myself personally would go through with the surgery). He says instead of putting those people down or the doctor down he encourages them. Why? Because you could discourage someone from moving mountains just because you don't see it. We don't know what Jesus has put in each others hearts and how we can be most useful to the kingdom! So lets all try to encourage each other more often! I think it is important as Christians we all come together and no longer divide ourselves amongst each other but rather we encourage each other and show more love! Lets get as many of our fathers sons and daughters back to him as possible! I love you guys! If you need prayed for or just need someone to talk to please don't hesitate to email me at:mercylovechrist@yahoo.com  I would be more than glad to help however I can! If you know ANYONE that needs someone to talk to please direct them my way, I would be more than glad to talk to them! Please bookmark our blog and comeback regularly! YOU ARE WORTHY YOU ARE LOVED

Hello all! I would like to explain why I created this blog. For a while now I noticed the increasing absence of young adults from the church. I realize that this is a problem the churches have been dealing with for a while, however, a few weeks ago it really got to me. It didn't get to me because I wanted the church to  be packed full so I can feel good about my church. It wasn't even the fact that our pastor works his tail off all week to prepare the sermon, just to deliver it to the same folks week in and week out. None of these reasons are the reasons why it got to me. It got to me because this is peoples ETERNAL life we are talking about! I love my community, I love everyone, and it bothers me terribly to think about all the young adults I know and to think they are missing out on the most wonderful thing there is. I understand that church isn't the only way to get your fix of faith, I understand that, I understand with the technology today, there are plenty of ways to get your fix for the week. I know it is easy to say that this generation is impatient, but I didn't want to believe that, I had to get to the bottom as to why every year it seems less young adults come to church. The following story is the reason why I created this blog. I wanted to get answers from young adults, I wanted to get their story. Are they impatient or has the media persecuted Christians to the point it has turned away a generation from Christianity. I started to speak to young adults and asked why they didn't come to church. I asked them if they felt it was a dated process that they can online at the comfort of their own home. Did they not care or have faith? Most of the kids I asked said that they preferred watching a online sermon every Sunday. Whether this is true or not, I don't know, but I took them on their word, I just pray that whoever they are watching on Sunday..? Another answer I got was that their parents didn't go so they didn't bother, but they and their parents believed. Then, I got the most disturbing response. A couple of young adults/teenagers said they didn't think they were worthy of the Lord, they didn't know how they could possibly be loved because they weren't perfect. They wanted to be saved but they were scared of the reactions and the judgement of others because they didn't feel "worthy". I couldn't believe what I heard. I asked them what would make them think this way, wherever they were getting their gospel it wasn't being preached to them correctly. They said on TV and social media people like them are constantly being turned away from faith. Are you kidding me?! I tried to tell them that none of that is true. These guys haven't committed unforgivable sins rather they said they could never be perfect. This saddens me terribly because I know they aren't alone, most kids think this way. They think this way because of the technology that is disposable to them. Then some churches proceed to condemn them for not going to church and they can't find peace, or a place to learn. So, I proceeded to tell them their was only one person to ever be perfect and that was Jesus Christ! We all sin. They have never heard this before. They didn't know where or how to get started with their faith. So I told them to go to Church. However, they didn't feel comfortable with that, they told me thanks for caring but they will never be able to start this journey of faith. So I decided I wasn't going to see these young adults be turned away from faith, nor anyone else that struggles with self doubt. That feel as if they will never be good enough. So I created this blog to reach those that need help! I don't claim to be all knowing, in fact I am far from it. But I do love all of you and I want you to have a relationship with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I love you guys and I am here for all of you! You guys are all WORTHY and are all LOVED!
